Installing Non-Java Windows version

tbridges
Forgive me if this has been posted already, but I couldn't find it (but I am new to the site and AstroImageJ). I'm trying to install a non-Java version of AIJ on a Windows 10 machine, but I can't see how to do this. When I go here: https://www.astro.louisville.edu/software/astroimagej/installation_packages/AstroImageJ_installation_windows.html

I don't see any links for downloading. Am I missing something, or is there not a non-Java Windows version?

thanks very much

Hi Terry,

Are you looking to install an AIJ build that doesn't use java at all? If so, there is no such build since AIJ is written in java. If you are looking for a version that does not use the distributed java version, but uses your system's java version, see the following post on how to set up:

http://astroimagej.1065399.n5.nabble.com/Install-AIJ-with-64-bit-Java-On-Windows-Machines-64-bit-OS-and-64-bit-Java-are-Strongly-Recommended-td128.html

Note that some changes have been made to this post to accommodate using the currently available windows installation package.

Karen

Thanks Karen. Okay, I was confused about Java. I have also figured out how to install the default Windows version with Java incorporated-- I had to put the "ij.jar" file in a location where the program configurator could find it. Now I have AIJ installed correctly on my Windows 10 laptop.
