The issue is how to understand a satellite or rocket body in a multi-axis tumble and to get a tumble rate. Seems it is not as straight forward as some claim in the satellite observing community and visually timing flash rates even over a long track we are coming to believe are poor at best since most never cover a little over a minute and sub flash peaks can easily be missed.
For us we were just trying to come up with a way to basically tell if a satellite is tumbling or not especially if they are in rapid tumble.
