This problem should be fixed after installing the appropriate v5.4.1.00 installation package for your hardware from the UofL website:
https://www.astro.louisville.edu/software/astroimagej/installation_packages Note: Using the update feature within AIJ will not resolve the problem. You must perform a new installation using the appropriate dmg file from the install package website. After the new install is performed, you can again use the update feature for future updates. Can you please let us know if you have for sure reinstalled the v5.4.1.00 new installation package, rather than installing an older package and then updating? We think that you have installed 5.4.1 from scratch, but want to make sure. Karen |

Also, our test Macs are running Sequoia 15.3.2, so we are unable to test with Sonoma 14.6.1, but we don't expect a difference in behavior between the two. Nevertheless, if you have already tried the new AIJ installation package, have you considered updating to Sequoia to see if it makes a difference?

Hi Karen, thanks for the suggestions.
Usually I install the latest version, so I was using v5.5.0.00-mac-x86_64Bit.dmg but following your suggestion, i tried the older one: v5.4.1.00-mac-arm_64Bit.dmg But the same problem arise again....I just can use the app once, and then i cant be opened again. Everytime I have to download it again, and then it works (for 1 usage). Maybe I can update to Sequoia and try again... Best regards, Ernesto |

Using v5.5.0.00-mac-x86_64Bit.dmg is fine. It was published shortly after I wrote this post. We thought we had this fixed with the new launch since others that reported the problem have not reported back any issues, and we haven't seen it one our Macs. If you do update to Sequioa and the problem goes away, please do let us know here. In the meantime we'll be considering what could be different between machines.
Does the problem possibly happen after updating AIJ via the built-in Update feature (i.e. after installing the new install package and then updating)? I'm not getting the idea that you are running the update after the fresh install, but wanted to make sure. Karen |
