Hi
https://nova.astrometry.net/ is down for some time here.

Isnt it possible to integrate PlateSolve 3.8  in to AstroImageJ?

Best regards

I can confirm that the nova server is out of service from my location also. How long has it been down?

I'm not super familiar with PlateSolve3, but from a quick search, it appears to be part of the PlaneWave software package. I couldn't determine if it is closed or open source software that might be compatible with AIJ licensing.

Nevertheless, we are investigating different approaches to implement plate solving directly in AIJ for all compute platforms. However, it is not a trivial problem. Of course Windows users can plate solve locally and directly from AIJ using ansvr by downloading and installing from https://adgsoftware.com/ansvr .

There are suggestions here on how to get it running under linux, but I haven't had any say that they were successful. If someone has documented the process, we'd like to add it to the AIJ website.

If users have experience using open source software that is reliable and fast, please post links in this thread and we'll investigate the licensing and practicality of integrating into AIJ.
