We are transiting to a new user forum hosted on GitHub along with our new website. We strongly recommend asking new question on the new forum here:
https://github.com/AstroImageJ/astroimagej/discussionsAs with this user forum, anyone with or without a GitHub account can read topics on Discussions. However, we encourage AIJ users that do not already have a GitHub account to go ahead and set one up and bookmark the above Discussions link. This will allow easy access to post topics, help others by responding directly within the forum, and ask for support from both users and the development team.
A free GitHub account can be set up following
these instructions. In short, simply navigate to
https://github.comand click
"Sign Up".
Discussions can be used to discuss anything AIJ with the community and developers, including usage questions, feature questions, new feature suggestions, and suspected bug reports.
We will continue to monitor both facilities for now.
-----STOP HERE IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR THE GITHUB USER FORUM---------
If you do need to start posting on this nabble user forum, follow the instructions in the next paragraph. Note that gaining access to post in this nabble user forum will be slower than the GitHub discussion signup because you will have to wait on AIJ admins to add posting privileges to your nabble account. This can take one to a few days. The GitHub discussions posting set up can happen quickly since you do not need to wait on an AIJ admin to respond.
in the AstroImageJ forum, click "New Topic" near the upper-left hand side of the main forum page. You will then get a message stating "You Cannot Post Here". Click the link "request permission to post" and enter a brief explanation of what you want to post about, and why you can not use the GitHub Discussions user forum, and then click "Send Request". AIJ admins will then be notified and can give you access to post on the forum. This may take one to a few days. The GitHub forum request is self serve and will be enabled for posting in Discussions right away.
NOTE: Please do not send us a direct email question to avoid registering for the forum. Also, there are no "stupid" questions. Other AIJ users will benefit from the question and answer exchange regarding the issue you are having.
