In Ubuntu the default user interface is Gnome with Wayland, and Wayland has known issues with some desktop applications. Would you consider using Xorg instead of Wayland? That's the traditional stable Linux Window driver and it is also supported by Ubuntu. If the issue is with Wayland, then AIJ should work with the change described here
