Hello,
I am having an issue with elliptical apertures in v4.4.1 on Win11. I set the apertures and their magnitudes, but when I run the photometry (click enter or right-click), the relative fluxes all show up as zero in the measurements table, and the magnitudes of the comparison stars all show up as 99.99 in the 'Reference Star Settings' window. If I try to change the magnitudes of the comp stars in that window, they instantly revert back to 99.99. If I save the apertures and load them back in, the magnitude information still doesn't register, even though it appears to be saved in the file (unless I'm missing something). I'll paste the contents of the aperture file in at the end of the message. Thank you, Scott AIJ APERTURES FILE majorVersion 2 minorVersion 1 ap custom_shaped isComp false centroid true radec 241.19877159402353 -16.000856921255565 baseRadius 7.0 absMag 99.999 transform rotate Hi Scott,
I ran a couple of quick tests and didn't have problems with the magnitudes entered as apertures are placed, or changing them in the reference star panel. Your investigation below seems thorough, so I'm sure you must be seeing the problems you are describing, but there must be something slightly different in our set-ups that I'm not keying in on. Would it be possible for you to create a screen grab video of you multi-aperture run setup, aperture placement, and the actual multi-aperture running, and then your attempts to change the magnitudes in the reference star panel? That might help me key in on the difference in what we are doing. It is also even more weird that your relative magnitudes are showing up as zero. If you are unable to make a video (or in addition), could you save your resulting measurements table, plotcfg, and apertures file, and provide those along with three of your images to my email address at karen.collins at cfa dot harvard dot edu. Using dropbox or similar is fine in place of attachments if needed. Karen |
