ERROR: Macro 1 "C:\Users\johnd\" Not found

johndowning
I use AIJ every week or two and haven't seen this error before: ERROR: Macro 1 "C:\Users\johnd\" Not found:.

It occurs when I am using the CCD Data Processor to calibrate a folder of images. This folder resides in an SSD drive that I use to transfer images from my pier-side computer to my laptop. All running Windows 11.

Any ideas how I can get past this error?

Thanks in advance,
John Downing

Hi John,

When you say SSD drive, do you mean a portable USB-type SSD drive, or you main computer drive? I would guess the latter given that the macro is attempting to access drive C, but you mentioned about using the drive to transfer images, so I am unsure.

Can you confirm that you can browse to "C:\Users\johnd\" outside of AIJ?

What version of AIJ are you running? Is it the same as you have been using before?

Good morning Karen,
1. Yes, it is an external SSD drive.
2. Yes, I can browse, with Windows File Explorer, to C:\Users\johnd\.astroimagej. The only item in that location is: AIJ_Prefs.txt
3. 5.5.1.00, and I’m pretty sure it is the same I have been using for quite some time.
Best,
John

Karen,
I did a bit more troubleshooting. Moved my external SSD drive over to my secondary laptop (Win10_AIJ 5.5.1.00) and the calibration routine worked just fine. Same drive, same data, no errors.

This would seem to indicate that the AIJ on my primary laptop is corrupted or for some reason can't find Macro 1?

Then I should uninstall and reinstall AIJ on my primary laptop, right?

Tks,
John

This is very unusual as I have used AIJ to calibrate my data for years without any problems whatsoever.

What is it that Macro 1 is trying to access in  "C:\Users\johnd\"? I originally thought this is where your images were located.

When I went back to test/troubleshoot my primary computer I just happened to see the Macro 1 box, in the Post Processing section, checked. The destination is was Once unchecked I was able to calibrate my data with no problems and upload it to my research team.

I have no idea what Macro 1 is used for, it must have been inadvertently checked.

My apologies,
John

PS: To answer your question: The C: drive is the primary internal drive for my laptop. The SSD drive, that I use to transfer my data from pier-side to laptop is usually designated as D: drive. The only reason (I think) AIJ was looking for my C: drive is because the Macro 1 box was inadvertently checked. Once this was unchecked, all worked well.

Ah, I didn't realize that you we're not intending to run a macro.
