AIJ can not open files after FITS header change

bryan martin
I use ASIair pro to remote access scope.  It has camera control software that was upgraded.  Now my FITS headers are twice as long and include plate solve data.  AIJ can not load files with the new FITS header data.

Is there a simple fix?  Am working with software to bulk edit the headers but my software skills are weak.

Hi Bryan,

Did you mention in your original email that the FITS header no longer has the "END" keyword? If so, that would cause problems and should be fixed by the telescope manufacturer.

If that's not a problem, could you try changing 1300. to 1300 in the header to see if that corrects the problem(I think you mentioned having access to a fits header editor)? It looks like the number is identified as an integer in the fits header but has the trailing decimal point that would make it a floating point rather than an integer. If this turns out to be the problem, could you report the inconsistency to your telescope manufacturer?

What version of AIJ are you using? What computer/OS are you using?

Karen

Looks like none of my FITS headers had END before, or after, the upgrade.
Will try to fix the integer issue with the editor, once I figure out how to use it.
thanks
