AIJ 3.3.4.00 - WCS results not saved

BobM
Hi Karen,

After running WCS on series, log states successful plate solve and that file was saved. New copy with correct D-T stamp is saved but there is no WCS info in FITS header.

Example line:

[2020-02-20T10:22:50.132]      Astrometry job 2059 for slice 30: SOLVED
[2020-02-20T10:22:50.749]      Saved file "E:\EXOTIC\Test-Runs\K2-22-b on02.20.2020UT in CBB\Science Images\pipelineout_\K2-22 b_2x2_90s_CBB_-20_20200219_.07828_out.fit"

Auto Save is enabled. Add to Header is enabled.

Not sure if this was introduced in .4. Had no problems with previous versions.

Bob

HI Bob,

Could you please revert to the version 3.3.3 or early and see if the problem goes away? It's easy to downgrade using the Update facility too. Just choose the earlier version in the pulldown list and update as normal. Based on your test result, I'll dig in deeper.

Re: AIJ 3.3.4.00 - WCS results not saved

Hi Karen,

I reverted to 3.3.3 and reran calibration on the raw dataset. After that I ran WCS and all 40 images in the set were successfully plate solved (in log and in individual frame fits headers).

Upgraded to 3.3.4, reran calibration on raw dataset (after deleting previously calibrated and plate solved frames). I then ran WCS. It took longer to complete but did show that all frames were successfully plate solved in the log. However, upon opening the frames none contained WCS data in fits header.

Also noticed a difference in file size. Raw file size is ~8mb. After running DP in 3.3.3 processed file size is ~16mb. When running DP in 3.3.4 processed file size is ~32mb.

To my knowledge there have been no changes in my image acquisition software.

Let me know if I can run any other tests or provide you with any data.

Hi Bob,

Can you make a small data subset available to me for download so I can try locally?

If you want, you can email access to me at karenacollins atatat outlook dot com.

Bob knows already, but for anyone else following this thread, the problem is fixed in version 3.4.0 (and later). Thanks for your example data and testing Bob!
